I've been using asterisk since 1.6 existed: mostly 1.4 and 1.6.2. My first reference in the changelog was in beginning 2009. The only channel driver I've used is chan_sip; which is giving me incidental nightmares, both because of the sheer size of chan_sip.c and the needless complexity of the SIP protocol :-P
