The Page application was written originally to use MeetMe for sending audio to multiple dialed parties. As development continued a new bridging API and conference bridging application, ConfBridge, was written which performs the same thing but without requiring DAHDI. To leverage this new conference bridging application the Page application will now be converted to use it. It was originally thought that the Page application would use the bridging API directly but after research and comparison the number of features that would be needed from ConfBridge became too large to make using the lower level API viable from a maintenance perspective.
Features required but not available
The only feature required for the Page application that is not available is the ability to play an announcement file to the channel joining the bridge. This is very simple to add to the ConfBridge application.
